Dr. Marija Runić, member of the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology (LEP) at the University of Banja Luka, held a lecture titled “University teaching in the U.S.: Experience from an Exchange Program’, aimed at students and faculty members. Dr. Runić shared her experience of Visiting Fulbright Scholar at Western Washington University, where she taught a special topic course in language and society for advanced undergraduate students in linguistics. Drawing from her own teaching experience in the U.S., Dr. Runić explored a number of topics, such as student-centeredness of the university education, course design, course objectives and learning outcomes, student assessment, learning activities, learning management systems, and syllabus design. Students and teachers from the University of Banja Luka used this opportunity to put forward some viable solutions that could improve the teaching process at the University of Banja Luka in the long run.
