Serbian language is peculiar as a) it uses two scripts ‒ Cyrillic and Latin ‒ on equal terms; b) both scripts are characterized by shallow orthography, which offers an opportunity to study differences in visual features of the two scripts and their mental representation, as well as relations between orthography and phonology.
